Graphic cards are said to have great
influence on the DVR Boards. What graphic cards do you
recommend? |
| |
 |
The first recommendation would
be the graphic cards manufactured by ATI(Rage 128pro,
Radeon).
Another recommendation would be the GeForce2 MX 200/400,
from nVIDIA, but when using this graphic card you will
have to use the driver which we supply, and only use in
a Windows 2000/XP environment(storage speed decreases
when used in Windows 98). |

What are the differences of RGB and YUV image signals? |
| |
 |
RGB signaling refers to the method of dividing an image
signal to the fundamental three colors(Red, Green and
Blue) when processing the signal. It has the advantage
of good color division and conveyance, but the disadvantage
of requiring at least 3 color division data.
YUV signaling refers to the method of expressing an
image signal by the vertical and horizontal signal synchronization(Y),
and its color signals(U, V). Color division and conveyance
qualities are inferior compared to the RGB method, but
the YUV method can express more diverse colors using
less image data.
The choice of both methods are available on DVR. RGB
images will have clearer color but more 'blocks' on
the images, while with YUV images dividing between colors
can be more difficult but you will get a more smoother
looking surface from them.

What are the backup devices supported by the system? |
| |
 |
Data backup devices include CD-RWs, DVD-RAMs, DVD-RWs,
DATs, etc., any device that Windows recognizes as a drive,
and you can also backup on a network drive.
The unit of the data is 1 minute, and can only be viewed
through the supplied Backupviewer. Data backup is also
possible on the Search program, where it can be saved
in AVI format, making it conveniently viewable through
the Windows Media Player(by enabling "View-Caption"
from the menu, you can also conform information data). |

Each model seems to require different IRQ settings,
how do I do it? |
| |
 |
There are no special IRQ setting requirements for the
DiViS-CAP2X30, 2x60, 120, 240, because they can share
an IRQ with other devices. However, with the DiViS-CAP30/60
you must be careful to make sure an IRQ collision doesn't
occur. We recommend that you disable all devices not being
used when installing these products(MIDI ports, USB ports,
etc.). |

 |
What is the recommended Windows picture quality for
DiViS software? |
| |
 |
DiViS DVR, DiViS-Net, and DiViS-Web were all designed
in a 1024x768 environment. Setting the system to a lower
quality can result in screens that are cut-off, so be
sure to set your screen to 1024x768 before using your
software. |

What are the precautions when recording sound? |
| |
 |
With Windows 98 or 2000, Direct X 8.0
or better must be installed. Windows XP is supplied with
Direct X 8.0.
Soundcard configurations and usable microphones differ
depending on how many channels you use. Be sure to check
your settings.

What can be done about dynamic IP? |
| |
 |
Currently in Korea, dynamic IP systems are more popular
than fixed IP systems, including many of the ADSL and
Cable modem systems, meaning that the IP address will
change frequently.
DiViS has the function of e-mailing the current IP address
whenever the system starts, to the user designated e-mail
address. You can use this address to log-on to the DiViS
DVR system. |

Miscellaneous precautions when installing your system. |
| |
 |
1. Make sure that the Capture Board driver is
correctly installed.
(Control Panels-System-Device
Manager) |
| 2. Make sure that the Database(Volume) settings
are correct. |
| 3. Be sure to choose the correct NTSC, PAL when
installing your program. |
| 4. Check the cables connection on the capture

| 6. Make sure the camera functions properly. |
7. When possible, avoid using software that resides
in the RAM. Especially, vaccines can be
potential problems. |
| 8. Turn off screen savers when using the program(Control
Panel-Display-Screen saver) |
| 9. Turn off energy savers when using the program(Control
Panel-Display-Power) |
